Australia did indeed play Iraq the other day and very nearly lost again as they seem to do when faced with mighty teams such as Iraq (or Iran).
They went 1-0 down after about 10 minutes which was dead funny. Australian's are very passionate about sport, and football (not Soccer) is the number one extra-curricular sporting pastime apparently. Yes, more popular than surfing, barbequeus and quokka-kicking. Despite this passion, they're still a B-Grade footballing nation.
They were probably the better team in the second half to be fair, but Iraq created some good chances.
Disappointing turnout though - the stadium was pretty empty.
